The $60,000 we usually collect for parking during basketball games is left unfilled for this year, and we are asking for your help only to satisfy this budget. The reality is bleak; without community assistance to pay our bills and keep the lights on, we will need to close ICL.
ICL was established in 1978 and this building has been our home since 1998. Unlike the vast majority of mosques, we rarely ever request funding from our community because we satisfy budgeting needs by charging people for parking during KU basketball games. However, COVID requires the University to restrict entry to these games. Thus, we cannot collect for parking this academic year as usual. We are counting on you to help in any way you can.
Jazakallah Khair, and Asalamu’alaikum.
ICL also provides many services to students in need, and it is one of the only masjids that provides free daily community iftar in Ramadan. Please also consider becoming a regular donor, as a continued sponsorship would allow ICL to provide these services for many years to come as well.
